On a beautiful summer’s day, Cliff Top Kennels Re-homing Centre was delighted to once again be part of the annual Scalby Fair, joining local charities, community groups and businesses for one of the village’s most popular events of the year.

Our volunteers were kept busy throughout the day welcoming visitors to our stall, chatting to supporters about the work of the charity and raising much-needed funds to help care for the dogs at the centre. Events such as Scalby Fair are a wonderful opportunity for us to meet members of the local community, many of whom have supported the charity for years, while also introducing new people to the work we do and the dogs currently looking for their forever homes.

One of the highlights of the day was our ever-popular Lucky Dip, which proved to be a huge success once again. With prize bags specially prepared for children, adults, dogs and even cats, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The smiles on the faces of those taking part made all the hard work worthwhile, and it was wonderful to see so many families stopping by to support us.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who generously donated prizes for the Lucky Dip, as well as those who purchased tickets throughout the day. Every ticket sold helps us continue our work of caring for dogs in need, providing them with food, shelter, veterinary care and, most importantly, the time and attention they deserve while waiting for a loving new home.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who visited our stall, we were thrilled to raise £352 during the event. This is a fantastic improvement on last year’s total of £279, demonstrating once again how supportive our local community continues to be. Every single pound raised will go directly towards helping the dogs in our care.

Events like Scalby Fair simply wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers. From preparing hundreds of Lucky Dip bags before the event, setting up the stall early in the morning, chatting to visitors throughout the day and packing everything away afterwards, a great deal of work happens behind the scenes. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who gave up their time to help make the day such a success.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the organisers of Scalby Fair for once again hosting such a fantastic community event and for giving local charities like ours the opportunity to raise both awareness and valuable funds. Their hard work in organising the day is greatly appreciated.

Finally, thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, bought a Lucky Dip, made a donation or simply took the time to learn more about our charity. Your support really does make a difference and helps us continue our mission of giving every dog in our care the opportunity to find a safe, happy and loving forever home.

We look forward to returning to Scalby Fair again next year!
